Ajman University has much to celebrate. Our rankings continue to rise – now up to #440 in the world – and we have earned a newly conferred QS Rating of Five Stars Plus (the highest possible). Our faculty has grown to nearly 300 scholars – representing more than 80 nationalities – who have published more than 1,500 Scopus-indexed articles. Furthermore, 27 of our researchers are ranked among the top 2% of scientists in their fields. AU continues to expand our research centers, lead in digital transformation, and launch innovative interdisciplinary programs that anticipate future needs.

In this month’s forum, I want to share the secret to our success: the people who drive this institution. Every achievement we’ve reached was made possible by the hands, minds, and hearts of Team AU. With a high level of dedication, discipline, and genuine care, each team member contributes to the success of others – culminating in a collective excellence that surpasses individual efforts. And for this, they deserve the highest possible recognition.

AU’s cohesive, purpose-driven dream team is the power behind our future readiness – keeping our institution adaptive and agile amid unpredictable change. Every success we achieve rests on their relentless determination and spirit of optimism. AU has been built by a human treasure second to none. One that was nurtured from four key principles:

Without question, Ajman University’s greatest strength is our people, who uplift each other and this institution with renewed commitment every year. Team AU’s contributions deserve far more than standard appreciation. Together, they have earned the kind of respect and admiration most often conferred on those in public-facing roles.

Therefore, I want to publicly and widely share that Team AU has built our reputation that now stands firmly on the global higher education map. They are the driving force behind our past, present, and future. Because of them, the best keeps getting better. And I can’t wait to see what they make happen next.

I must emphasize that not every group of people working together qualifies as a team. To earn that label, there are requirements such as unity of purpose, complementary efforts, shared core values, and collective ownership of tasks and results. Team AU has all of that and more: tenacity, foresight, and forbearance. I witness these traits in action every single day in our community.

Our leadership team continues to meet ambitious targets while under significant pressure and time constraints. Our faculty members power our academic strength, energize our programs, and push us to reach – and exceed – the next level. Our senior executives, directors, and managers guide strategy and execution. Our service providers, maintenance crews, student services teams, IT professionals, office managers, and administrative staff keep operations running smoothly. Our facilities staff keep the campus clean, welcoming, and beautiful.

AU’s human capital has, in fact, become our greatest strength. A “tour de force” cultivated by cooperation, collegiality, collaboration, and connection. A workplace culture that nurtures belonging across all roles and unites our team around a shared purpose. A team that thinks strategically, acts swiftly, and moves forward with confidence together. A mindset that sparks an elite level of performance.
